TIPS TO GET YOU STARTED!
First - Front and Center in All Areas - It's important for you and your dog to have a special and long lasting bond which will allow you to understand each other. It's my goal to share as much information with you as possible to help you achieve that!
Training a puppy or dog, young or mature in age, there are some key areas to dog training that are critical. Yes, you can probably get your doggy to sit, come, roll-over, stay, stand on it's hind legs, even skootch along on the floor as if crawling. I want to take you further and into more in depth training of your doggy to be well behaved and consistent in it's reactions to situations outside and inside the home.
I will do this by sharing videos that Dan has provided me and articles to give you insight so you can make an educated decision as to getting started with Doggy Dan's Online Video Dog and Puppy Training Program.
- READ the DOGS NEED A PACK LEADER ARTICLE - >> CLICK HERE << It is the MOST IMPORTANT Information You Must Take To Heart & Accomplish. Dan has a VIDEO on this in his website that teaches you the 5 Golden Rules and How to Be a Pack Leader, all can be seen in his Online Video Website.
- It is imperative that you learn to understand your puppy or dog and how their mind works. Without the connection between the two of you on this deeper level, it will be like you're trying to ride a unicycle instead of a regular bike. You'll struggle and stumble as will your dog. Your dog really does look to you for guidance.
This may all seem overwhelming and yet, Dan has a way of presenting the training techniques in a way to keep you learning while keeping things simple. The other great thing about the Doggy Dan's Online Video Training Program is: You can re-watch the video training sessions over and over.
The goal to Dan's training is to help you and your dog form the amazing bond that keeps your dog "wanting" to do what you ask of them. They really like to respond to your requests. Having a dog that plays fetch, does some tricks and behaves even 99% of the time seems like a stretch for most dog owners and yet, Dan wants you to experience what it's like to have your dog really pay attention not only to your spoken requests but to your body language as well, ALL of the TIME.
This is where, l'll just cut to the chase, you want to do a MIND-MELD with your dog. There you have it. Get into your dogs mind and be the Pack Leader and watch and experience your dog responding to you with an eagerness that is difficult to explain.

HOW TO MOTIVATE YOUR DOG!
- Be Patient and Excited with the Ups and the Downs, the Accomplishments and the Ooops!
Let's start with a scenario where You are the one being trained. Maybe you are learning how to cook a new meal and you'll be serving it to company that's coming to visit. Or, you're an artist that needs to finalize a project for a client and you are trying to do something you've never created before, or, you're learning to roller blade for the first time or ice skate. If you're under pressure, on a timed schedule, being pushed so hard that you're exhausted and just want to scream, "No More", then you won't be enjoying the process.
So, you forget to put one of the main ingredients into the special meal you are planning to prepare for your visitors, that's ok... you're still learning and that's why you aren't preparing the meal for the very first time when everyone is scheduled to arrive. And the artistic creation you're making for the client that is pushing you to your outer limits of "how do I make and create this" for them? Well, if you can turn on some music, hold the vision of the completed project in your Mind's Eye, spend a little time just breathing and knowing you'll be completing the project in time, with ease and you can do this... It will all come together.
As for the ice skating and learning to roller blade, now that can be really fun but know you may have some bumps and bruises along the way and don't be afraid to ask for an arm or hand to hold onto. And... don't try and learn how to be a pro at it the first time you stand up straight! Take time to learn all the steps, falling down, getting tired, forgetting something, it's all part of the process.
This is how I want you to approach the training and learning within the Doggy Dan Program. Be gentle and patient with yourself and your dog or puppy or dogs! When you can both have fun with implementing what you are teaching and what you are both learning together, this will make the entire process so much more rewarding and enjoyable! Your dog can tell when you're stressed as you can tell when your dog is confused.
Be excited in the ups and the downs and hey... maybe you can both learn to do the "high five" paw to palm. Your dog will become more motivated to respond to you if they feel you are accepting their efforts and achievements.
Really try to connect with your dog to learn what they LOVE to Do! Do they like to play fetch? If you're where they can swim, how can you work that into your schedule and training? When combining the training with what your dog loves to do, of course, you'll both have fun and you'll start to make progress in all areas. You'll continue to establish yourself as the PACK LEADER and they will learn to value and trust your guidance.

REWARDS FOR YOUR DOG
3 MAIN DOG REWARDS:
- TOYS - play with your dog using toys and include exercise into the mix of having fun!
- FOOD - Depending on the type of food snack you want to use, be wise in your choices and how often and when you give your dog a treat
- AFFECTION - Be Authentic and Sincere when Showering Your Dog with Verbal Praises. Of course your dog will enjoy pats and cuddles.
Your dog will sense when he or she is doing well in responding to your training cues and signals. They also need to have a break from constant training where your time spent together is relaxed and yet, you keep tabs on their behavior by sharing rewards and affection accordingly. You will find, your dog wants and delights in obeying you.
REWARDS are given when your dog responds appropriately. Food should not be the main reward. It is better if your dog doesn't know which reward they're going to receive. This will allow anticipation and motivation to be a driving force for your doggy to do good and respond to your requests and training.
Do Not Reward your dog if they haven't earned it. That means, toys, food used for reward purposes and affection, need to be set aside for later.
PRACTICE... PRACTICE... PRACTICE and Be Patient with yourself and your dog or puppy!
It is your responsibility to learn what motivates your dog and how you can encourage the appropriate behavior once you are provided guidance and training from the Doggy Dan's Dog Training Videos and Articles. Remember, you have an awful lot to learn and it all just takes practice. Rewards come in handy to prompt obedience and to encourage the appropriate behavior. Work to keep your dog motivated, show them what you want them to do, practice and practice some more and you'll both build and create that special bond and will be proud of your accomplishments.
